Who collects your information

This site and the services described on it are operated by Cardinal Senior Care, a home care agency based in San Antonio, Texas. Throughout this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Cardinal Senior Care. We are the party responsible for the information described below.

What we collect

We only collect what we need in order to answer you and to arrange care. That is:

  • Contact information you give us: name, phone number, email address, and the city or area where care is needed.
  • Care enquiry details you choose to share when you book, such as who needs care, the hours you are looking for, and how you intend to pay.
  • Appointment information: the date and time you booked, and whether the appointment was kept or rescheduled.
  • Messaging preferences: whether you gave consent to receive text messages from us, which type you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed.
  • Basic technical information collected automatically by our website host, such as browser type, device type, and pages visited, used to keep the site working.

We do not ask for financial account numbers, Social Security numbers or medical records through this website. Health information needed to build a care plan is gathered separately during the in home assessment and is held under our clinical and client records.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and to schedule, confirm and remind you about your free in home assessment.
  • To arrange and coordinate care, including caregiver scheduling and updates about visits.
  • To send the text messages you have agreed to receive, described in the section below.
  • To keep records required to run a licensed home care agency in the State of Texas.
  • To improve our website and our service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not trade it.

Text messaging and consent

Text messaging consent is collected on our booking page, it is optional, and it is never a condition of receiving care from us. You may agree to transactional messages, to marketing messages, to both, or to neither, and you can change your mind at any time by replying STOP to any message from us.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services.

In plain terms: your phone number and your consent to be messaged stay with us. They are never shared or sold to any third party for marketing, and the only companies that ever handle them are the messaging platform and carriers that physically deliver the message to your phone.

Who we share information with

We share information only where it is necessary to deliver the service you asked for, and only with parties bound to protect it:

  • Our caregivers and care managers, so they can provide the care in your plan.
  • Our service providers, such as our scheduling, records and messaging platforms, which process information on our instructions only.
  • Where the law requires it, including a valid legal request, a state audit of our agency, or to protect someone's safety.

We do not share your information with affiliates or any third party for their own marketing purposes, in any circumstances.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not become care: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Client records: kept for as long as you are a client and afterwards for the period Texas law requires a licensed home care agency to retain records.
  • Text messaging consent records: kept for at least four years after consent is given or withdrawn, because messaging regulations require us to be able to prove when consent was given.
  • Website technical logs: kept for a short period by our host and then rotated out.

How we protect it

Information is held in access controlled systems, transmitted over encrypted connections, and reachable only by the staff who need it to do their job. No system is perfect, so if a breach ever affects your information we will notify you as required by Texas law.

Your rights and choices

  • Opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help.
  • Opt out of email by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
  • Ask what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your information, which we will do unless we are legally required to keep it as a licensed agency.

To use any of these, contact us with the details below and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

Our services are for adults and our website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will post the revised version on this page and update the date at the top. Continuing to use our services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
